Lissette Gamez (she/her) is a recent graduate from the University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign. Lissette, a first-generation student, graduated with her bachelor’s degree in sociology and psychology. 

Currently, she is in her first year in the M.A. program for higher education with a concentration in diversity and social justice. As a first-generation, Latina woman, Lissette is passionate about working to advance the diversity, equity, and inclusion of students from marginalized communities in the higher education sphere. In her future, she hopes to serve as an advocate and mentor for these students. In her free time, Lissette enjoys spending her time weightlifting and running, cooking, and partaking in other forms of self-care.
