The Office of Multi-Ethnic Student Affairs (MESA) is thrilled to announce that Andrea Wilkerson has been named the office's first assistant director of Native American student enrichment and belonging. Andrea has served as a MESA program manager since 2019 and now joins Nadia Bazzy and Krishna Han in MESA leadership.
The newly-created role honors recommendations from a task force of staff and students, to systemically support and provide for the co-curricular experience of Native American students and aligns with a key University of Michigan DEI plan commitment.
"I'm proud of and grateful for Andrea's continued leadership, and for our new opportunities to leverage MESA work further in supporting our Native community on campus," said Dr. Nadia Bazzy, MESA's director.
