Andrea Wilkerson has received the University of Michigan's Distinguished Diversity Leaders Award in recognition of her outstanding dedication to diversity at the university and her service to Native students.
Wilkerson is the assistant director for Native American student enrichment and belonging in Student Life's Office of Multi-Ethnic Student Affairs. She serves as advisor to the Native American Student Association, and collaborates with units and groups across campus as they strive to fulfill the university's promise to Native students.
The Distinguished Diversity Leaders Award recognizes staff members who work toward achieving a welcoming, supportive, and inclusive working environment—a distinction accompanied by a monetary award. It is intended to celebrate those who embrace the value of diversity and recognize how it helps set the university apart. This award is made possible by the Office of the Provost, the Equity, Civil Rights, and Title IX Office, and University Human Resources.
