The Office of Multi-Ethnic Student Affairs' Asian American & Pacific Islander Heritage Month planning committee—in close partnership with the United Asian American Student Organizations (UAAO) and the Oceanic Student Association (OSA)—is delighted to share an exciting set of programming at the University of Michigan in March and April to celebrate and honor AA&PI histories, heritages, communities, and identities. Events are planned and organized by student organizations and units across campus.
While the month is federally recognized in May, U-M celebrates the month from mid-March to mid-April, with a diverse range of events that honor AA&PI histories, heritages, communities, and identities.
Together, hosts will bring campus together for public talks, art and social activities, a conference, a gala, teach-ins, and more. Some of the events include the month's opening ceremony hosted by MESA, talks by acclaimed writers Hieu Minh Nguyen and Putsata Reang, block printing and zine making, karaoke, and a collaboration with Arab Heritage Month.
We hope you will join us for these special events happening at the University of Michigan this semester. Please visit our Asian American & Pacific Islander Heritage Month calendar for an up-to-date listing of these events and links to their full details and registrations (where required). You can stay up to date on MESA events by joining our mailing list and following us on Instagram, Facebook, and X.
