Central Student Government’s Student Organization Funding Commission (SOFC) serves as the primary funding body for student organizations on the University of Michigan’s campus. SOFC awards over $400,000 to more than 250 student organizations every academic year, and it has over $200,000 in funds available during the Winter 2017 semester to support student organizations like yours.
SOFC operates on an application and reimbursement basis. Organizations may apply anytime throughout the semester. Commonly funded expenses include room rental, speaker honorariums, travel costs, etc. Items generally not funded include Festifall/Winterfest registration fees, food, t-shirts, and capital goods. **Additionally, please note that under a new pilot funding policy intended to change the culture around sexual misconduct and alcohol and other drug misuse on campus, all organizations that have applied to SOFC and intend to claim $1,000 or more in the Winter 2017 semester must have at least two authorized signers attend a Bystander Intervention Training.
