Social Justice Roundtable

Growing Allies has decided to pilot a Social Justice Roundtable
and we would like to invite your student organization to participate!

Thursday, March 14th from 5-8pm

**with a follow up meeting later in the semester**

This roundtable will bring together 2 leaders (preferably a veteran leader, newer member) from 6-7 student groups. To grapple in questions like:

  • How do we effectively advocate with groups that are not represented in our membership?
  • Social justice on campus happens in silos, how do we collaborate more and engage people outside the social justice network to care?
  • We are so busy planning events/programming. How do we address and talk about identities within our group?

Through participation in the roundtable, we will strive to:

  1. Improve internal group dynamics of student organizations, especially how student groups support diversity within their organization and talk about identities
  2. Support leadership development of student leaders doing allyhood work
  3. Develop skills to work as allies in and with other communities
  4. Create a space for student leaders committed to allyhood to campus to connect, learn from one another, and collaborate
  5. Have fun getting together over a free dinner!

If you are interested please reply to growingallies@umich.edu and we can discuss the next steps.
