Growing Allies Fall Retreat

Fall 2012 Retreat

The Growing Allies Retreat is an opportunity for students, faculty and staff to explore their identities as it relates to issues of social justice. The retreat is on campus and free for all to attend. Within the span of a three-day period, participants get to explore their social identities, make meaning about how those identities have influenced their experiences in life, and learn more about allyhood.

Participants leave the retreat having had the time to reflect on their lives, share in the experiences of others, and build skills around not only identifying instances of bias and discrimination, but interrupting and challenging those behaviors in everyday scenarios.

Many of our participants have described this retreat as one of the best experiences they have had in their time at the University of Michigan.

The retreat will be held on the weekend of November 2-4, 2012 at the Trotter Multicultural Center free of charge.

We are excited to welcome all students, faculty and staff of the University of Michigan to apply as facilitators or participants!

Application Deadlines:
Facilitator Applications: October 22nd
Participant Applications: October 19th
